AHBAS Member's Artwork in the UKAHBAS member Catherine Park has had her 2020 Phipp's Flora painting "Columbine, magnified" accepted into a show in London.
The UK's Society of Botanical Artists has an annual exhibit called Plantae. Catherine responded to the call for submission on a whim this past February, sending images of her two flora paintings, the columbine and the previous year's "D is for Dutchman's Breeches." She forgot about it and then was stunned to learn in early May that the columbine had been accepted. The show will be at the Mall Galleries in central London, just down the road from Buckingham Palace., June 14-18, 2022. Catherine has plans to attend in person and meet some of the wonderful botanical artists on the other side of the pond. She encourages others to enter long-shot calls for submission now and then because you never know when something incredible might happen! |
