Rodef Shalom Congregation 4905 Fifth Ave Pittsburgh, PA 15213 showing plant diversity and native plant ecology in relation to the High Holy Days. The exhibit runs from August 28 to October 15. Eight artists that belong to AHBAS were invited to prepare exhibit "Pennsylvania Native Plants Contributing to the Ecosystem" for RLA Learning and Conference Center.
Exhibit is on display May 30 thru September 15, 2023. The RLA gallery is located on the second floor Atrium in the common area of the building and is open and free to the public Monday through Thursday 10am-7pm and Friday 10am-4pm. Allegheny Highlands Botanical Art SocietyMembers of Allegheny Highlands Botanical Art Society (AHBAS) display their work at various times of the year in different venues throughout the Pittsburgh area.
Each spring, members who participate in the Flora project with Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens have their work displayed at the Phipps Garden Center in Mellon Park. In the spring of 2019, AHBAS had an exhibition at the North Hills Art Center to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA). Each winter, members display their work at the Northland Library in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. In the past artwork has been displayed at Mt. Lebanon Library to coincide with the Garden Tour fundraiser. |

The Healing Garden
Rodef Shalom Congregation 4905 Fifth Ave Pittsburgh, PA 15213 The drawings are the collection featured in the 2022 publication The Healing Garden celebrating the 36th year of the Biblical Botanical Garden of the Congregation. National and International Botanical Art Meetings in PittsburghEvery few years the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) holds their Annual Meeting and Conference in Pittsburgh. This event is in conjunction with the International Exhibition of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation at Carnegie Mellon University. The three day event includes workshops, lectures, demonstrations, tours, exhibitions, portfolio sharing, personal and professional interaction and social events.
The next ASBA Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh is expected to occur in the fall of 2024. |
