Allegheny Highlands Botanical Art SocietyMembers of Allegheny Highlands Botanical Art Society (AHBAS) display their work at various times of the year in different venues throughout the Pittsburgh area.
Each spring, members who participate in the Flora project with Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens have their work displayed at the Phipps Garden Center in Mellon Park. In the spring of 2019, AHBAS had an exhibition at the North Hills Art Center to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA). Each winter, members display their work at the Northland Library in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. In the past artwork has been displayed at Mt. Lebanon Library to coincide with the Garden Tour fundraiser. |

National and International Botanical Art Meetings in PittsburghEvery few years the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) holds their Annual Meeting and Conference in Pittsburgh. This event is in conjunction with the International Exhibition of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation at Carnegie Mellon University. The three day event includes workshops, lectures, demonstrations, tours, exhibitions, portfolio sharing, personal and professional interaction and social events.
The next ASBA Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh is expected to occur in the fall of 2024. |
