​National and International Meetings in Pittsburgh

An annual schedule of Society events is distributed to members by email and on the calendar above. Changes to scheduled events and additional events are communicated to members by email and on the calendar above.

​Quarterly business meetings of AHBAS are held.

Note: Some of these activities may be currently canceled or modified to comply with health and safety guidelines

An annual invitation for AHBAS members to visit the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation for a private showing usually occurs in the early winter.
​
Numerous "Open Studios" are held for AHBAS members every month in various locations throughout the Pittsburgh area.
Field trips and "pop-up" events are organized by AHBAS members, as interest and opportunity are available.
Every few years the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) holds their Annual Meeting and Conference in Pittsburgh.  The three day event includes workshops, lectures, demonstrations, tours, exhibitions, portfolio sharing, personal and professional interaction and social events.

This event is in conjunction with the International Exhibition of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation at Carnegie Mellon University. This exhibit features the works of the most talented botanical artists from around the world. The Hunt Institute houses one of the world's largest collections of botanical art dating from the Renaissance to the present.

The next ASBA Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh is expected to occur in the fall of 2024.
